Dr. Stephen Henninger PT, DPT, OCS
Inspired to study weight training at an early age, Stephen started a self-study on the most effective ways to exercise. His hunger for knowledge led him to earn his B.S. in Exercise Science in 2011 while continuing to work as a specialist in ergonomic assessment, chronic back pain, and injury prevention in a corporate fitness environment. His desire to learn more clinical skills led him to attain his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from East Tennessee State University in 2018. All of this leads up to his next pursuit of Orthopedic Residency training.
How did it happen? He married the love of his life in 2019, packed all their belongings in only one vehicle, and started their “honeymoon” travel to San Antonio, Texas. This is where Stephen joined the small percentage of physical therapists to complete an additional year of training as an orthopedic resident and is now credentialed as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist. He has spent the past several years working alongside a wide array of clients and issues including return to sport athletes, chronic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, mobility deficits, and much more.
Stephen is certified in Dry Needling and uses Manual Therapy techniques as needed to help his clients return to the activities that they love. He enjoys working with anyone of any age to guide them on their journey to enhance their physical capabilities and general health. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, hiking, playing recreational sports, or winding down the day with a rerun of The Office.
