You have the choice to stay home, and we’ll come to you. Let us create a customized physical therapy program for your pool. We provide mobile aquatic PT in St. Augustine, Nocatee, Saint Augustine, Jacksonville, and Ponte Vedra Florida.
Why Choose Wells Physical Therapy for Aquatic Physical Therapy
In-home aquatic physical therapy involves supervised exercises in a pool or therapeutic water environment, allowing for gentle, supportive rehabilitation. The natural buoyancy decreases weight-bearing load on joints and muscles, making it ideal for conditions where land exercises might be too painful or risky.

What to Expect in a Pool Therapy Exercise Program
- Aquatic therapy sessions at Wells Physical Therapy are designed to address your unique rehabilitation needs, starting with a comprehensive land-based evaluation. During this initial evaluation, your physical therapist (PT) will assess your history, strength, balance, and range of motion to create a custom aquatic therapy program tailored to you.
- You may begin with low-resistance exercises in the pool to target your specific issues. These movements often include walking, stretching, and resistance or balance exercises, allowing you to gently ease into the therapy.
- As your therapy progresses, subsequent sessions may take place in both the pool and on land. In the pool, your PT will advance your exercises to include cardiovascular activities like deep-water running, brisk walking, or small hops.
- Strengthening exercises targeting your legs, arms, or core will also be incorporated into your aquatic therapy plan, along with balance exercises to help improve your stability, reduce falls, and promote better mobility.
